Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need planning permission for my extension? A: You will not need planning permission for extending up to 6 metres from your existing property under the new legislation that was passed later last year. However, Building Regulations will still be required by law.
  • How long does it take for planning permission to be granted? A: If and only if permission is granted (if required) it can take up to 6-8 weeks for approval providing all drawings that are submitted are accurate at time of drawing. The planners may ask for revisions if there are elements that need to be changed. This may come at a cost from the architect and also may delay permission being granted. It is always best to try and keep on side with your local planning department!
